The problem I see with this sign is not that it's about 8' high and short animals won't see it. It's that animals don't read signs.
Kind of reminds me of those deer crossing signs.
Deer don't read those signs (either).

For reference: a famous radio clip from Y94 in Fargo, North Dakota, in which a caller asks to have the deer crossing signs moved so the deer will stop crossing there. Deer still don't read signs. Neither do I, apparently.
